Closure: I-40 & Bridge at Belmont

I-40 to close overnight for work at Bellemont interchange

Drivers can use off- and on-ramps as detour west of Flagstaff.

PHOENIX – As work progresses on improvements to the Bellemont traffic interchange on Interstate 40 west of Flagstaff, the Arizona Department of Transportation will need to close the interstate under the overpass overnight next week so construction crews can place steel girders.

On Tuesday, Aug. 20, I-40 eastbound will close at the Bellemont exit from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. On Thursday, Aug. 22, I-40 westbound will close at Bellemont from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Transwestern Road passing over I-40 will also be closed during these times.

I-40 traffic will exit at Bellemont and use the off- and on-ramps to move through the area while the interstate is closed.

Drivers who ordinarily would use the Bellemont/Transwestern Road interchange can use the I-40 interchanges at Parks and A-1 Mountain Boulevard.

The project, which began earlier this summer, will improve the bridge deck and pavement and widen on- and off-ramps.

Yard Sale Thank You

By

Hello neighbors,

Well, we beat the monsoons and had a very successful 3rd Annual Community Yard Sale.

We had 16 neighbors donate to participate in the sale and balloons and streamers were everywhere.

Our directional signs and advertising were done by Raechel Johnson and a huge THANK YOU to her and husband Don for their very successful efforts.  We had shoppers from Flagstaff & Kingman as well as many of our surrounding communities.

This year we added a Brats or Burger Lunch.  This turned out to not only be a delicious and inexpensive deal but fun for all.  Thanks to Jason & Cindi Doud on Longbow.  Jason, did the smoking of the brats and burgers and Cindi kept everyone comfortable in their beautiful backyard as well as keeping everything stocked for the meals.  A special thank you to Annie Burdikoff for the donation of some of the burgers and buns as well as Jason when we ran out of brats.  We hope to do this again next year.

We took suggestions from shoppers last year and incorporated them by adding signs at the beginning of each street and noting the number of sales on each street.  This was well received and seemed to be informative.

All in all, we all had a very successful day.  Both shoppers and sellers.  If you have suggestions for next year please pass them on to the POA.  Continuous improvement is our goal.

Last, but not least was the $20 drawing.  We drew Sandy Teesle on Robinhood.  Congratulations and Thank You to Sandy as well as to everyone who participated.

ADOT improving I-40 Bellemont interchange west of Flagstaff

Project will reconstruct bridge surface, widen ramps

PHOENIX – An Arizona Department of Transportation project beginning Monday, July 8, will improve the bridge deck and pavement and widen on- and off-ramps at the Interstate 40 Bellemont/Transwestern Road interchange 13 miles west of Flagstaff.

Drivers on I-40 can expect lane closures and a reduced speed limit overnights during this work, which is scheduled to be complete by year’s end.

Two overnight closures of I-40 under the Bellemont/Transwestern Road bridge (Exit 185) will be scheduled for late July. During these closures, I-40 traffic will use the Bellemont/Transwestern Road off- and on-ramps and Transwestern Road will be closed at the bridge.

An eight-day closure of Transwestern Road at the interchange will be needed in early fall.

During closures, drivers who ordinarily would use the Bellemont/Transwestern Road interchange can use the I-40 interchanges at Parks and A-1 Mountain Boulevard.

Advance notice will be given with the dates of closures.

To learn more about this project, please visit azdot.gov/projects and click on the North Central District.

Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors. SFE Community Yard Sale

By

SHERWOOD FOREST ESTATES POA announces:

Saturday – 7/13/2019

8 am to 2 pm

Hello neighbors, do you have some “old treasures” you would like to let go of?  Well here is your opportunity.

The third annual SFE Community Yard Sale is coming Saturday, July 13, 2019.  Hours will be 8am to 2pm.  Rachel Johnson and Kathie Krushinsky will be putting this yard sale event on this year.

All SFE residents are invited to participate and are asked to register with Rachel or Kathie by July 1st.    All sales will be at your property and any funds you make are yours.

We are requesting a $10 donation to help offset printing and advertising costs as well as balloons/streamers to be placed on your mailbox signifying you are participating. Any extra funds will go towards water bottle packs for our SFE Fire Department.  Also, if you donate, your name will be placed “in the hat” for a $20 drawing at the end of the sale day.

We will be placing fliers at both Parks stores and several stores/shops in Williams.  There will be advertisements placed with Nextdoor, Williams newspaper, SFE Website as well as directional signs placed on the main roads.

This year we also have a neighbor on Longbow who will be BBQing hot dogs & hamburgers for a $5 donation to go to our SFE Fire Department.   They will as well as many of their own “treasures” for sale.

Hope you join us in this event and have fun waving goodbye to your “old treasures”.

Please Contact: Kathie Krushinsky 405-919-4363 or Raechel Johnson 928-279-2620
