Hello neighbors, do you have some “old treasures” you would like to let go of? Well here is your opportunity.
The third annual SFE Community Yard Sale is coming Saturday, July 13, 2019. Hours will be 8am to 2pm. Rachel Johnson and Kathie Krushinsky will be putting this yard sale event on this year.
All SFE residents are invited to participate and are asked to register with Rachel or Kathie by July 1st. All sales will be at your property and any funds you make are yours.
We are requesting a $10 donation to help offset printing and advertising costs as well as balloons/streamers to be placed on your mailbox signifying you are participating. Any extra funds will go towards water bottle packs for our SFE Fire Department. Also, if you donate, your name will be placed “in the hat” for a $20 drawing at the end of the sale day.
We will be placing fliers at both Parks stores and several stores/shops in Williams. There will be advertisements placed with Nextdoor, Williams newspaper, SFE Website as well as directional signs placed on the main roads.
This year we also have a neighbor on Longbow who will be BBQing hot dogs & hamburgers for a $5 donation to go to our SFE Fire Department. They will as well as many of their own “treasures” for sale.
Hope you join us in this event and have fun waving goodbye to your “old treasures”.

Good afternoon Sherwood Forest Estates neighbors!
Although it didn’t appear that there was a lot of trash to collect, we filled 19 bags and loaded an assortment of metal mesh, buckets and tarps into the Hunters trailer. We had a full trailer!
With the help of fellow Annual Neighborhood Clean-Up Committee member’s, Danny Hunter, Vicki Hunter and Walt Krushinsky and 14 neighbor volunteers, who braved a very chilly morning, we have had another successful neighborhood and surrounding area clean-up and enjoyed a delicious BBQ of pulled pork, tri-tip and smoked turkey breast plus all of the sides. A huge thank you to Jason and Cindy Doud. We all enjoyed meeting new neighbors and sharing a fun social afternoon with everyone.
We had 14 volunteers with a total of 50 hours worked. These hours will be applied to our Firewise requirement. Thank you, Walt, for transporting it all into the Williams refuse disposal site.
Any bottled water we purchased and did not use for this event will be donated to the SFE Fire Department.
The Committee would like to thank all of the volunteer’s and set up crew who helped to make this year’s clean up event a great success.
Thank you so much neighbors,
Kathie Krushinsky, POA Member

Williams, Ariz., April 1, 2019—For Immediate Release. The Kaibab National Forest, in cooperation with the communities of Parks and Sherwood Forest Estates is pleased to announce the reopening of the Moonset Pit on May 11 of this year for local residents to dispose of green waste materials from private property.
The renovation and expansion project occurring over the past two years at the site has been completed, and the pit will be open on the following days this year from 8am to 2pm:
Saturday-May 11, Sunday-May 26, Saturday-June 8, Saturday-June 22, Saturday-July 13, Saturday-July 27, Saturday-August 10, Saturday-August 24, and Saturday-September 7.
Users will only be allowed to access and discard natural woody debris such as logs, limbs, branches, brush, needles, and leaves on these dates while staff is present. No bagged substances, lumber, construction material, household garbage or any other items should be deposited at the site.
The Moonset Pit serves the local area providing a location for the disposal of natural forest debris. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this facility in order to make their private property more defensible against the threat of wildland fire.
Moonset Pit is located just west of the Parks community on a dirt road east of Spitz Springs on the north side of old Route 66.
Personal Use Cinder Information: Personal use cinder material will also be made available at the Moonset Pit this year and permits will be available starting July 8 at 8am. Cinders will only be available for collection on weekends to avoid safety conflicts with Coconino County mining operations.
There is a new personal use cinder pit currently available to the public all days of the week at the Wright Pit located off Lillie J Ranch road in Parks. The W-Triangle Pit is also currently open for cinder removal throughout the week.
For information about obtaining permits or questions about all these services, please visit the Williams Ranger District office at 742 S Clover Road in Williams, or call us at (928) 635-5600.
The success of this community provision is largely attributed to the volunteers of the Parks Area Connection and Sherwood Forest Fire Department who staff the pit on Saturdays during the open hours of operation. This annual service is also supported by the Kaibab National Forest and the Rural Communities Fuels Management Partnership.
